What happens when a stranger takes everything from you in the blink of an eye? When your life goes from perfection to hell and you aren't sure if you want to climb out of the hole you're in or dig down deeper?

Events from Traxx Maxwell’s past prevent him from getting into serious relationships and he likes it that way. One unexpected day, hell breaks loose. “The Incident” happens. Traxx is forced to watch something that no one should ever see. He starts to fall into a person that no one recognizes. There is darkness moving within him - he is broken inside.

While she’s waiting for Traxx to quit his slutty ways and really notice her, Ciara Collins is dating other guys and having fun. One unexpected day "The Incident" takes over Traxx’s life. While he tries to push everyone away, Ciara refuses to retreat. Can she help him put his fractured life back together or will he have to remain this shattered shell, completely dismantled?

And just when life seems somewhat bearable, the creepers who have been quietly observing and enjoying Traxx’s suffering, have decided to take everything away from him – once and for all.

This is a story about how the unexpected can make someone’s life fall into pieces, and how unconditional love and friendship can help those who are dismantled become whole again.

I’m still waiting for him to say something…
anything. So many emotions cross his face in a matter of seconds. Happy.
Confused. Sadness. I don’t know what to say. Perhaps I need to say nothing at
all. In the stillness, our eyes do all the silent talking. Our chests move with
heavy breathing and desire pours out through our pores. It’s unmistakable. The
question is what are we going to do about it? The seconds feel like hours while
we weigh each other’s options.

Finally, Traxx man-ups the situation, and he slowly
takes a couple of steps until he invades all my senses. So close that I can
feel his body heat, and the clean scent of his cologne becomes a part of the
air I breathe. I look at him, my high heeled shoes giving me a closer look to
his masculine face. His jaw is tense. His eyes intense. It’s a lot more than I
can take. He’s everywhere and nowhere all at once. I want to grab a hold of
him, and I want to turn around and walk away. Too many feelings…too much. I
want it all. With shaky fingers I place a hand on his chest. I’m unsure if I
should push or pull, so I leave it still instead. He is rock solid and soft at
the same time, if that’s even possible. His heat burns my hand, but I won’t
move it. It’s the best burn I’ve ever had.

The heat moves through that hand and comes into me
– inside of me, moving throughout my body and filling in my empty heart. One of
his hands comes up to cover the one I have on his chest, and as I turn my head
to look at the Traxx sandwich my hand’s caught in between, his other hand lifts
up, and grabs my hair, moving it behind my shoulder. His hand caresses my
shoulder, then my collarbone, never leaving my skin, until it finally wraps
around the side of my neck and with his thumb, he gently rubs the outline of my
jaw. Back and forth. And again – back and forth. It’s a beautiful feeling. It’s
excruciating. I catch myself looking into his eyes and then my eyes move so I
can stare at his lips.

“Ciara, you are breathtakingly beautiful.”

I realize I can’t talk and then something similar
to a whimper escapes my lips. I recover quickly by clearing my throat and
whispering, “Thank you.” The time lingers on. I wish I could pull him inside my
place and into my room. Keep him there, allowing myself to be selfish. There
are so many things I want to do to this man that even eternity wouldn’t be
enough time. I also need to try and decipher these feelings I have for him. To
show him someone cares and that he is worth it. His eyes say so much and
nothing at all.

Raising my chin with his fingers, Traxx whispers,
“It’s time to go.”

“Is it really… time?”

“Yes, it is. We may have to finish… this… another
day. Don’t you think?”

“Agreed. We really have to work on…this.”

He kisses the top of my hand and steps away from
me, back into the receiving hall, waiting for me to lock the door. I turn
around and he smiles and extends his hand towards me. I hold on to it and
follow him to the truck. The thought occurs to me that I would follow this man
anywhere he needed me.

SALVATION by STEPHANIE JOHN *warning this book may cause fainting, panty dropping, hot flushes*

Salvation, Book #1 of the Heal Me Series, by Stephanie John

Synopsis
A chance meeting turned my world inside out.
Intelligent, sexy, and rich. With a dash of roguish charm and a cocksure smile, Nathan Blake is the ultimate fantasy. He can have any woman he wants with only a glance.
And he wants me.
My past has left me broken and humiliated, wary of men like him.
I cut myself off from the pain, moving thousands of miles away to escape every reminder, determined to start anew.
I’ve been second best before. It isn't happening again.
One kiss and I'm caught under his spell, drawn to him with every breath I take.
I can't resist.
The passion that explodes between us becomes an intense connection
neither of us thought we’d share. Or need.
The suffering inside me reflects his – a pain I know he feels, but can’t bring himself to reveal.
I have no idea his love can heal me – that mine can heal him…
…if only I can let down my guard for him and trust.

Excerpt

When I joined him, he was leaning against the sink staring at the wall, his features twisted in annoyance. “It’s important to me,” I encouraged, setting his empty bottle on the counter beside him. I pressed a hand to his shoulder. “I want to know all about you like you do me.”
“Yeah,” he scoffed, shrugging me off, “except you won’t let me in either.” The ferocity of him tossing the plates into the sink with a crash panicked me. My ears began to ring with the sound of my heart thudding in my chest. Nate glanced sideways, his face set. “You’re keeping secrets, too.”
I winced at the harsh truth of his words. What right did I have, asking him to open up when I couldn't do it myself?
“Kara.” His fingertips drifted over my cheekbone. I jumped, taken aback by the veneration in his touch and the gentleness of his voice. “I don't want to argue, to spoil an idyllic couple of days.”
I hated seeing him like this, so lost and bewildered, out of control. It went against so much of what I treasured about him. Yet it gave me comfort to know he wasn't just an ideal high on a pedestal, completely out of reach. Nate was human, and he was here, with me.
I stepped closer and rubbed his arm. His eyes were mesmerising, the pupils almost fully dilated. My breath caught when I saw the depth of his feelings swimming in them as he stared back at me. The tiny tick of his jaw pulsed as he gritted his teeth. “I’m trying to do right by you. Trying my utmost to shelter you.”
My body tensed. “From what?”
Nate caressed my face, seeking and finding strength the way I did from him. His eyes were fretful and undecided. God, what had happened to make him behave so out of character?
I wrapped my arms around him and pressed my cheek to his chest. His heart pounded frantically. His shower gel still lingered on me, and mine on his skin. The two scents, woody and almond merged together, giving me an inevitable sense of calm and assurance. “What happened in New York?”

MY REVIEW

When I was considering whether to read this book I was totally swamped with reviews (what's new?)
So I was almost going to turn it down, (GASP!)
It was the synopsis & the fact that Stephanie Johns is an Aussie author that swayed me, &  I'm so glad I read it or I would have missed out on meeting the very swoon worthy Nathan Blake "Nate".

He reminded me of a cross between Hudson Pierce (Fixed Series) and Damian Stark ( Stark Trilogy) the difference is, however that while he is sexy, accomplished, confident and gorgeous he also possesses a sense of modesty and humility that i found so irresistible.

He falls madly in love with Kara and isn't afraid to own it. Kara, however is plagued with doubt over his intentions, and I was on the same page with her throughout this story. I mean what woman wouldn't be intimidated by this gorgeous man.
Imagine having to fight off every beautiful woman in town?

But alas Nate only has eyes for her and their mutual attraction blossoms into an
exhilarating whirlwind romance that we, the lucky readers,
get to experience right along with them. Stephanie has done a fantastic job at bringing to life this story so that your in it..till the last page.

The secondary characters are so endearing and worthy of their own stories.
Salvation is an extremely well written book, that had me feeling all the feels,
and with so much steam I was fanning myself ...HOT!!!!
Definitely left me wanting
more of Nate & Kara.

I gave this 4.5 stars

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
STEPHANIE JOHN

Most days, you’ll find Stephanie John on a yacht, wearing a very skimpy bikini, drinking champagne, eating chocolate and never gaining weight.
When she isn't asleep and dreaming, in real life you’re more likely to find her at the school gates, wearing whatever she dragged on that morning, drinking copious amounts of coffee. She still eats chocolate, though — everyone has their vices, right?
Somehow, amidst the chaos of full-time mummy duties, she manages to write. Contemporary romance has always been her favourite genre to read for as long as she can remember (age-appropriate, of course).
Never in a million years did it occur to her to write one of her own. Now, she couldn't imagine doing anything else.

AN EXCERPT

It was New Year’s Eve. Troy had wanted us to join him at a frat party, but I knew Rory would feel more comfortable ringing in the New Year just

the two of us. The restaurant was packed with people who either had the same
idea as us, or who just wanted to take advantage of the free New Year’s Eve
beer sampler. I parked my truck in the back of the restaurant, which stood like
a giant two-story box in the center of a dark corner lot.

The front of the restaurant was lit up by a gaudy neon sign and the
sodium yellow glow of a solitary street lamp. But the back of the restaurant
was flush in dark-blue shadow, and the occasional glint of moonlight on chrome.
There was one other car parked back there, but it was a brand new Lincoln SUV.
Probably belonged to the manager or the owner of the restaurant. They wouldn’t
come out until the place closed down at two or three in the morning.

“Do you think they’ll have champagne?” Rory asked, grabbing her phone
out of her purse and tossing the handbag into the truck cab.

“Doesn’t matter. You won’t be able to drink it,” I said, reaching
into the cab to grab an old blanket I kept back there out of habit, tossing it
on top of her purse to further conceal it.

“You don’t know that. I don’t always get carded.”

I can barely see the arc of her cheekbones through the hazy
moonlight. “I don’t know. It’s New Year’s Eve. They might let you slide.” I
reach forward, my fingertips skimming over her knee-high tights, landing softly
on the top of her thigh. “Or they might take one look at you in that skirt and
those schoolgirl socks and decide you’re just too much of a risk.”

Rory and I had never role-played, but ever since I saw her slink into
this outfit, I’d thought of nothing else but bending her over a desk and
fucking her as if our grades depended on it. Being three years apart, Rory and
I didn’t share any classes. But that didn’t change the fact that I thought of
nothing but her while sitting through hours of boring lectures. Fucking her in
that schoolgirl outfit would make up for all the times I’d sat in class trying
my damnedest not to get hard while fantasizing about her mouth around my cock.

I began sliding my fingers beneath her wool tartan skirt, but she
grabbed my hand. “Stop trying to distract me.”

She threw open the passenger door and twisted around to get out. My
eyes locked on the curve of her hips, the bounce of her ass as she plopped down
onto the asphalt. It hadn’t quite been twenty-four hours since we’d last
fucked, but I was already hungry for her again. I stepped out the truck and
headed her off near the tailgate.

“What are you doing?” she said, making a move to sidestep me.

I moved with her, my hands reaching forward to grab her waist. “Don’t
move.”

“Houston.”

My gaze fell on her chest, the rise and fall of those soft mounds.
The way they curved down into her waist made me dizzy. The snug cream sweater
she wore left just enough to the imagination. My eyes raked over her entire
body, landing on her lips, my mind lingering on the memory of the sweet taste
of her. Finally, I looked up, and the moment our eyes met she knew.

Her arms stretched up, latching onto my neck as I bent down, my arms
locking around her thighs to lift her up. Her legs clenched around my waist as
our mouths collided in a hot fervor of passion. I carried her past my truck,
toward the back wall of the restaurant, my muscles saturated in my need for
her.

“What if we get caught?” she whispered.

I pressed her against the brick wall, leaning my weight into her as I
kissed her deep and hard. Without saying a single word, I was answering her
question: Who gives a fuck?

“Fuck me,” she breathed as I ground my hips into the wet cotton of
her panties.

“Not yet. I want to watch you come undone.”

I set her down on the asphalt and knelt before her. Her chest heaved
with anticipation as she watched me lift the edge of her skirt. Sliding my hand
behind her thigh, I lifted her leg to rest it on top of my shoulder, opening
her up to me.
“Oh, God,” she whimpered, as I slid her panties to the side.

For Avery, relationship advice comes easy. Even if her own love life is in shambles, doling out her opinion is what she was born to do. When she scores her own advice column in a prominent Charlotte newspaper, Avery is ecstatic—that is until a snarky blogger, Amanda Truthslayer, pops up on a popular website that caters to the miserable. Amanda’s blog takes questions directly from Avery, spinning the sweet advice into a blunt cringe-worthy bitchfest. Realizing that the elusive Amanda’s in-your-face opinion might just ruin her brand, Avery has no other choice but to seek out the very sexy, very available, very cynical owner of the website and the Bradbury Enterprises gaming dynasty, Max Bradford.

From the moment she and Max cross paths, sparks fly. Avery believes in fairytales and he believes in … well, being an asshat. When he gives her the news that he can’t and won’t pull Amanda’s blog, Avery makes it her mission to turn the cynical, love-hating Max and his scathing blogger into believers of happily ever after. But inserting herself into Max's life slowly begins to backfire. Because the more Amanda flips Avery's advice, the more Avery realizes how skewed her own perception on relationships might be. And the more she’s around Max, the more impossible it is to resist him.
